INDIA Vs NDA – A battle between Indian and Anti-Indian elements
The Indian opposition alliance has become INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). In a bid to challenge the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) led by BJP, 26 opposition parties came together and formed INDIA, so it's going to be NDA Vs INDIA which is the talk of the town today. Our team talked about the implications of this new alliance to a few people.
Ravikumar VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi) thinks that the INDIA alliance by 26 opposition parties is kind of an intimidating factor for BJP and that is why BJP is going lengths to revive their alliance, NDA which has many inconsequential, namesake parties. Not giving into the pressure of BJP's ED (Enforcement Directorate) inquiries, the opposition party meeting successfully held in Bengaluru took some resolutions against BJP for the upcoming general election in 2024. A 11-member coordination committee will be set up for the alliance and the 3rd meeting will be held in Mumbai. The agenda of the Bengaluru meeting covered vast areas including the Manipur issue and the involvement of private businessmen in the functioning of the public departments.

The decision to change the name of the alliance to INDIA is a strategic outplay of the opposition parties. The symbolism of the name tries to bring in anti-BJP feelings, meaning NDA Vs INDIA is perceived as BJP against India. So the symbolism exhibits the fact that the upcoming general election depicts not a battle between 2 political parties, but a battle between Indian elements and anti-Indian elements such as BJP.

"The union of parties with the common vision that prioritises the protection and upliftment of the Constitution of India comes as a big blow to the ruling party's political strategies. Foundation has already been laid for the defeat of BJP in the Assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana in November month", said Ravikumar.

Journalist Priyan said that the leaders of the alliance INDIA are famous personalities from different states with disparate ideologies. "Despite having different ideologies they all formed an alliance to rescue democracy from the clutches of BJP after 2024. Modi's government and the Sangh Parivar have polluted all the public institutions including courts and in the name of unity they are trying to establish uniformity which is a threat to a diverse country like India", said Priyan.

He also said, "To contain the threat posed by the BJP government, all opposition parties held hands keeping aside their differences. Predicting the repercussions of such a strong alliance, BJP has formed the alliance NDA with 38 parties. Numerically NDA might seem massive but it lacks the presence of ambitious leaders. Threatened by the alliance INDIA, Modi has resorted to giving negative remarks about the parties of INDIA by calling them corrupt parties. Fascinatingly he is saying this having Edappadi Palaniswami in his side who has 3 charge sheets filed against him. Despite being a leader of a national party, Modi is targeting DMK because it is one of the strong state parties in the Congress alliance."

Arunan from Communist Party of India Marxists (CPIM) said, "In the Bengaluru meeting, General Secretary of Communist Party, Sitaram Yechury highlighted the importance of bringing a change to India by eliminating the Modi factor. So the alliance INDIA has started its journey to save India. The name of the alliance itself will bring victory for the parties. Fearing this consequence only, BJP has formed the alliance NDA with 38 parties and conducted a meeting on the same day as the Bengaluru meeting of INDIA."
