TN Guv to take over Karnataka
Chennai, June 27: President Pranab Mukerjee on Friday handed over additional charge of Karnataka to Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah. This comes to light after Karnataka Governor HR Bhardwaj will complete his tenure on June 28.

77-year-old Bhardwaj, who was the Law Minister in UPA-I, took charge as the Governor of Karnataka on June 29, 2009 and has been occupying the post since then. Meanwhile, there was pressure from the NDA government to many governors across the country to step down fro their respective posts.

Reports suggested that the BJP wanted to appoint some BJP leaders as governors. However Bhardwaj, refused to step down as his tenure was coming to an end this month.

Meanwhile, Tripura Governor Devanand Konwar will also retire along with Bhardwaj. 71-year-old Konwar, a former Congress Minister in Assam, was first appointed as the Governor of Bihar on June 29, 2009 and continued in the post till March 21, 2013. He was then transferred as Governor of Tripura.
