Dog Attack In Chennai: Now, 9-Year-Old Boy Injured By Cop's Husky

Days after two pet dogs attacked a five-year-old girl, another incident of dog bite has come to light in Chennai. The incident occurred on Tuesday.

A Siberian Husky dog attacked a nine-year-old boy. The victim has been identified as nine-year-old Aswanth, who is the nephew of Vinotha, a police officer from the women's police station in Ashok Nagar.

The incident occurred when Aswanth visited his aunt Vinotha at the Alandur police quarters during his summer break.

Around 7 pm yesterday, the 12-year-old son of Head Constable Karthikeyan arrived at 'B' Block with his Siberian Husky pet. The dog chased Aswanth and other children playing in the area, ultimately biting them.

However, the boy sought refuge in the motor room area, where he fell and sustained more injuries as the husky continued to pursue him. Upon hearing the children's cries for help, neighbours and relatives rushed to the scene and rescued Aswanth.

Following Vinotha's complaint, the St Thomas Mount police have filed a case against the dog's owner, and investigations are currently ongoing.

On April 5, a five-year-old was viciously attacked by two Rottweiler dogs, resulting in severe injuries. Reports indicate that the girl's mother, attempting to intervene and protect her child, was also bitten by the dogs. The child's father was away when the incident occurred.

The Thousand Lights police have filed a case and arrested a family comprising Pugalendi, Dhanalakshmi, and their son Venkateswaran on charges of negligence and endangering public safety.

A case has been booked under Sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others).

Raghu, the father of the 5-year-old girl has said that his daughter will undergo surgery on Thursday. However, the child is hale and healthy.
