DMK’s Mupperum Vizha (Triple Celebrations) In Vellore Today, Kalaignar Award To I Periyasamy

Today marks the DMK's Mupperum Vizha celebrations, in which CM Stalin will participate and present various awards. This event encompasses three important occasions - the birth anniversary of Periyar; birth anniversary of DMK's founding father Annadurai (celebrated on September 15) and the foundation day of DMK, forming a triple festival tradition upheld by the DMK each year.

Despite the passing of DMK leader and former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Mupperum Vizha continues to thrive. This year, significant efforts have been dedicated to the construction of a magnificent stage pavilion near the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway in Kandaneri, adjacent to Vellore.

In preparation for the event, DMK flags have been prominently displayed in the vicinity. CM Stalin arrived in Vellore yesterday via train and received a warm welcome at Katpadi railway station. He spent the night at the Vellore Government Tourist House.

The celebration commences in the morning with a variety of events, including a debate event. An elaborate public gathering will also be held in the evening, which will be attended by the CM. Stringent security measures have been implemented for the Chief Minister's visit, and the use of drones in Vellore has been prohibited for security purposes. A contingent of 2000 police officers has been deployed to ensure security during the Chief Minister's visit to Vellore.

Furthermore, as part of the DMK's tradition of annual awards presented at the triple event ceremony, the recipients of this year have been announced. The recipients of the awards are given below:

Periyar Award: Awarded to Mayiladuthurai K. Sathyaseelan

Anna Award: Awarded to Minjur K. Sundaram

Kalaignar Award: Awarded to I. Periyasamy

Pavendar Award: Awarded to Tenkasi's Malika Kathiravan

Professor Award: Awarded to Bangalore's N. Ramasamy
