Cyclone Vardah- Anna university postpones exams, schools to remain shut
Educational institutions in parts of Tamil Nadu affected by Cyclone Vardah will remain shut on Wednesday too.
Anna University in Tamil Nadu has cancelled all examinations scheduled for Wednesday. Schools and colleges in affected areas of Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram will remain shut on Wednesday also. Anna University is yet to announce a fresh date for the examinations.

Tamil Nadu's Education Minister, Pandiyarajan, announced that schools in affected areas will remain closed while other government school premises acting as relief centres will continue to accomodate those shifted from low lying areas.

Over a thousands trees were brought down in Chennai alone on Monday due to heavy winds and rains as a result of Cyclone Vardah. While corporation officials and staff have already begun rescue operations, many roads continue to remain blocked due to uprooted trees and broken electric poles.
