CM Stalin’s Breakfast Scheme Transforms Students' Lives
"CM Stalin's Breakfast scheme has benefitted approximately 60,000 students in Coimbatore district alone", said Coimbatore district collector Kranthi Kumar Pati. Parents of students studying in Rathinapuri Corporation Primary school also expressed their gratitude because of the benefit experienced from the Breakfast scheme.
One of the students of Rathinapuri Corporation Primary school is Mohammad Asrat who makes a big fuss while getting ready for school daily. Now, the situation has changed after the introduction of the Breakfast scheme, Mohammad Asrat is now enjoying his varieties of breakfast food with his friends.

One of the teachers of the school said, "Many students in our school are from poor backgrounds and most of them come to school skipping their breakfast. Listening to classes with hunger affects their cognitive skills development. Teachers also cannot provide food for all students at all times. Breakfast scheme of CM Stalin saved the students from hunger and aided the cognitive development of students."

Another teacher from Rathinapuri School said, "As per the scheme, the government is providing breakfast in schools with a lot of varieties in the menu like a private restaurant. I have never heard about a meal scheme implemented in schools with so many varieties. All the credit goes to the CM of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin."

A father of a student studying in school said, "One of the major concerns for parents is that their children do not eat properly before leaving for school. After the implementation of CM Stalin's Breakfast scheme, children eat properly at schools and parents also do not have anything to worry about. The significant feature of the scheme is the inclusion of millets to provide nutritious meals to students. "
A woman from school said, "For our generation, consumption of millet based food is a normal thing but for today's generation it is an exotic food. Reason being, the lack of knowledge about millet food cooking and the expensive nature of millet foods. CM Stalin has normalised millet based diet through the Breakfast scheme thereby increasing the nutritional value of today's generation."

"Approximately 250 students are studying in Rathinapuri School alone and around 120 schools are there in the district, all of them are beneficiaries of the Breakfast scheme. A total of 12,000 students benefited from the scheme which led to the increase of attendance in schools", said an authority from school.
Sujitha, mother of a student, appreciated the cleanliness and freshness of food and another parent Sulma wondered about the varieties given for the breakfast. Both the mothers thanked CM Stalin for understanding their problem and resolving them.

According to Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, approximately 60,000 students benefited from the scheme in Coimbatore district alone. In a survey conducted by the government, it is found that the scheme improved the nutrition of students and increased their attendance in school.
"Cooking training for self-help groups in panchayats are imparted and the process is monitored every second via an app. There is no chance for error since the data is uploaded as photos in the app", said Coimbatore District Collector.

One of the employees working in the Coimbatore district kitchen said, "We are preparing breakfast in a total of 5 big pots. The kitchen is very modern with high standards and amenities equal to a high class restaurant unlike the shed kitchen which used to be the place of cooking."
The varieties of food in the menu for breakfast include pongal, dal rice, dal upma, vermicelli upma, rava upma, sweet kesari etc. Apart from directly benefiting children by increasing their nutrition, the Breakfast scheme indirectly benefits labourers and cooks by providing employment to them. CM Stalin has addressed 2 problems of nutrition and employment with one scheme by creating an economic cycle.
