Chennai Vegetable Prices: What's Costly, What's Cheaper Today? Find Out

The Koyambedu Wholesale Market in Chennai witnessed a significant increase in the prices of lemon and beans today.

Lemons saw a steep rise, jumping to Rs 130 per kg from yesterday's Rs 80 per kg. Similarly, beans spiked to Rs 120 per kg today, up from Rs 70 per kg on Sunday.

The price of beans has been particularly volatile recently. It was priced at Rs 170 per kg on Friday, then dropped to Rs 120 on Saturday, and further fell to Rs 70 yesterday before today's spike.

In contrast, drumsticks saw a slight price drop, selling at Rs 160 per kg today, down from Rs 170 per kg yesterday.

Green chillies saw a decrease in price, falling by Rs 15 to Rs 40 per kg today, from yesterday's Rs 55 per kg.

Traders at the market also reported a Rs 10 increase in the prices of small onions and lady's finger. Small onions are now selling at Rs 90 per kg, and lady's finger at Rs 50 per kg.
