Chennai Vegetable Prices: What's Cheaper, What's Costly On June 26 In TN Capital?
Vegetable prices at the Koyambedu Wholesale Market in Chennai showed notable fluctuations on Wednesday, influenced by various factors.
Tomato prices, which had surged earlier in June due to reduced supply from Andhra Pradesh amidst prolonged heatwaves and untimely rains, saw a significant decline. Today, tomatoes are priced at Rs 40 per kg, down Rs 15 from yesterday's Rs 55.

Beans experienced fluctuations, starting at Rs 170 per kg on June 21, dropping to Rs 70 on June 23, and then rising to Rs 120 on Monday. Currently, beans are being sold at Rs 100 per kg.
Drumstick prices sharply declined from Rs 190 per kg on June 20 to Rs 120 per kg on June 25, further dropping to Rs 100 today.
Lemon prices also varied throughout the month, beginning at Rs 140 per kg in early June, dropping to Rs 80 on June 23, spiking briefly to Rs 130 on Monday, and settling at Rs 100 per kg today.
Meanwhile, cauliflower prices increased from Rs 30 earlier this month to Rs 50 today, after briefly touching Rs 40 yesterday. Similarly, chow chow, which started at Rs 50 per kg at the beginning of June, dropped to Rs 30 recently, and has now risen back to Rs 50 today.
These price fluctuations highlight the intricate dynamics influenced by seasonal changes, market conditions, and supply chain disruptions affecting vegetable prices at the wholesale level in Chennai.
