A diamond necklace worth Rs 5 lakh was recovered from a garbage bin in Chennai, thanks to the efforts of sanitation workers.

Devaraj, a city resident, had mistakenly discarded the necklace, which was a wedding gift from his mother to his daughter.

Realising his error, Devaraj immediately contacted the authorities for assistance.

The necklace was found entangled in a garland by sanitation workers during their search. J. Anthonysamy, a driver with Urbaser Sumeet, and senior officials supervised the recovery effort.

Devaraj expressed deep gratitude to Anthonysamy and the team for their swift and effective response in retrieving the valuable item.

Devaraj's quick action in contacting authorities led to a successful recovery operation for his daughter's wedding gift.
