Chennai Power Cut On Oct 3: Here Are The Affected Areas

Parts of Chennai will be hit by power supply on Friday. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation is carrying out maintenance work due to which there will be a power outage.

As per the electricity department, there will be power cut between 9 am and 2 pm in Porur.

Meanwhile, disciplinary action has been taken against several employees of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) in two separate matters.

Firstly, five officials from the Onnupuram substation have been suspended from duty. This action follows an inquiry into a fatal accident involving a gangman, which concluded that the suspended personnel, including a Junior Engineer and a foreman, failed to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures during the erection of electrical poles.

Secondly, the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) has initiated recovery proceedings against four TANGEDCO employees. The individuals are required to reimburse a total of ₹30.6 lakh for House Rent Allowance (HRA) that was unlawfully claimed while they were residents of government quarters in Pasumalai. The discrepancy was identified during a recent audit.
