Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express Via Bengaluru: Know Timings, Ticket Price, Stoppages

Chennai and Mysuru is set to get a second Vande Bharat Express as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a new train on March 12.

Timings:
The Vande Bharat train will complete the 362 km journey between the capital cities of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in just four hours and 20 minutes, compared to the Shatabdi, which takes approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes for the same route.

Reportedly, the Vande Bharat train numbered 20663 departs from Mysuru at 6 am, makes a stop at SMVT Bengaluru (Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal) at 7:45 am, and arrives at MGR Chennai Central at 12:20 pm. On the return trip, train number 20664 leaves Chennai Central at 5 pm, arrives at SMVT Bengaluru at 9:25 pm, and finally reaches Mysuru at 11:20 pm.

Covering a distance of 500 kilometers, the Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express completes its journey in 6 hours and 25 minutes.

As per the reports, it will run six days except for Wednesdays.

Fares
Based on the train fares of the first Vande Bharat service, the fare breakdown is as follows:

For travel from Chennai to Mysuru, ticket prices stand at Rs 1,200 for CC (Chair Car) and Rs 2,295 for EC (Executive Class), while the return journey from Mysuru to Chennai is priced at Rs 1,365 for CC and Rs 2,485 for EC, inclusive of catering.

According to the railway's official price list, the VB Express offers the lowest fare of Rs 495 for CC between Katapadi and Chennai, whereas the highest fare recorded is Rs 2,485 for EC from Mysuru to Chennai.

The Vande Bharat Express, featuring specially designed seats for short-distance intercity travel, was launched as a night special service last November.

Currently, the Chennai-Bengaluru route has many trains, including the Chennai-Mysuru VB Express, Chennai-Mysuru Shatabdi, Chennai-Bengaluru Shatabdi, Chennai-Bengaluru Double Decker, Chennai-Bengaluru overnight express, and two other intercity superfast trains. Additionally, numerous daily express and weekly trains originating from Northern states traverse this route.
