Chennai Metro Records 92 Lakh Ridership In September
A total of 92,77,697 passengers have travelled in the Metro Trains in the month of September, the Chennai Metro Rail said in a statement on Tuesday.
"CMRL has always endeavored to provide the people of Chennai with a safe, efficient, and reliable travel partner. A total of 92,77,697 passengers have travelled in the Metro Trains from 01.09.2024 to 30.09.2024," the CMRL said in a statement.
Passenger data for previous months includes:
- January: 84,63,384 passengers
- February: 86,15,008 passengers
- March: 86,82,457 passengers
- April: 80,87,712 passengers
- May: 84,21,072 passengers
- June: 84,33,837 passengers
- July: 95,35,019 passengers
- August: 95,43,625 passengers
The highest single-day passenger count for September was recorded on the 6th, with 3,74,087 passengers.

To encourage more ridership, the CMRL continues to offer a 20% discount on various ticketing options, including Metro Travel Cards, Mobile QR Code tickets, group tickets, and QR trip passes. Passengers can also conveniently book tickets via the CMRL WhatsApp Ticketing System (+91 83000 86000) and Paytm.
