Chennai Metro Back On Track: Regular Services From Tomorrow; Peak Hour Trains Every 3-6 Mins
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that normal metro services will resume from Thursday, following the regular weekday schedule.
This includes the restoration of intercorridor services, with direct trains running from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro to Airport Metro via key stations like Koyambedu and Vadapalani on the Green Line.

The statement comes after the Tamil Nadu capital was hit by heavy rains for the last few days.
Service Timings:
Metro services will operate from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with the first trains departing at 5:00 AM and the last trains leaving at 11:00 PM from all terminal stations.
During peak hours (8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM), train frequency will be:
Green Line (Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro to St. Thomas Mount Metro): Every 6 minutes
Blue Line (Airport Metro to Wimco Nagar Depot): Every 6 minutes
- Between Washermenpet Metro and Arignar Anna Alandur Metro: Every 3 minutes
- During off-peak hours (5:00 AM to 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM), trains will run every 7 minutes on both the Green and Blue Lines.
- From 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, trains will be available every 15 minutes.
The CMRL has requested the passengers to make use of these services and plan their journeys accordingly.
