Chennai: Dispute over sharing the spoils, AIADMK councillor murdered by associates
Chennai, Oct 1: In a dreadful incident at Mannurpet in Chennai, an AIADMK councillor was murdered in front of his house.
The councillor, M Guru was killed by four men who were his former associates. The murderers were associated in dubious land deals.
According to police sources, Guru got out of his house to attend the council meeting.
He asked his driver to bring the car which was parked on a corporation ground opposite his house. The murderers came in two bikes and murdered the councillor.
The four men fled the spot within minutes. The driver informed Guru's family members. When the family members rushed to the spot , they saw Guru lying in pool of blood.
Though he was taken to Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital. The doctors declared him 'brought dead.
The preliminary investigations by the police revealed that Guru was involved in illegal land deals. The sharing of profit led to Guru's death.
Guru started his career as an iron scrap dealer. He entered into politics and was elected as a councillor in 2011.
