Chennai building collapse: TN govt given notice by NHRC

The 12- storeyed under construction building collapsed on Saturday evening. About 27 construction workers were rescued by Wednesday after a massive rescue operation was launched.
NHRC said that they read in a media report that the chief minister said that the building had many structural defects and the builder had violated various norms.
The Commission said that it read the media report and said that if any of those allegations were true it would be a serious violation of human rights of the people that died.
