Bomb Threat Chennai Schools: Students Sent Home, Investigation Underway
Several schools in Chennai received bomb threats on Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to evacuate students and staff as a precautionary measure. Police teams were swiftly deployed to the affected schools to assess the situation and ensure the safety of everyone on the premises. The schools, situated in prominent areas including Anna Nagar, JJ Nagar, Parrys Corner, Gopalapuram, and Mylapore, were immediately subjected to thorough searches by police personnel.
The bomb threats, received emails from an anonymous sender, caused panic among students, teachers, and parents. Authorities immediately swung into action, coordinating with school administrations to evacuate the premises and conduct thorough searches.

Students were safely escorted out of the schools and sent home under the supervision of teachers and security personnel. Parents rushed to the schools upon hearing about the threats, anxious to ensure the safety of their children.

Responding to the alarming situation, the Greater Chennai Police deployed specialised Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams to conduct rigorous anti-sabotage checks.

"Following this, our personnel from Greater Chennai City Police/ Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad(BDDS) have been deployed to these schools for anti-sabotage checks.
