BJP's Sowdhamini Reveals Her Trials As A Widow And Newsreader
Sowdhamini, a well-known newsreader and BJP functionary shared her distressing experiences at a prominent TV channel in an emotional interview. Besides her role in media, Sowdhamini is also recognized for her diverse talents as a teacher, entrepreneur, and member of the BJP state executive.
Originating from Kerala and raised in Kanyakumari, she faced personal tragedy when her husband died in 2010 due to kidney issues, leaving her to raise their two daughters alone.

During the interview, Sowdhamini recounted the challenges she faced after her husband's death, including unwelcome suggestions from colleagues to remarry. She emphasized her commitment to her daughters, stating that any potential partner would need to accept them fully—a guarantee she felt could not be assured.
Despite these personal trials, she continued with her job as a newsreader, only to find her work opportunities diminished unexpectedly.
Upon inquiring about the reduced slots for news reading at the channel, Sowdhamini was met with indifference from her superior. The situation escalated when he offered to support her financially and take care of her children, a gesture she interpreted as sexual harassment.
This incident adds to the difficulties Sowdhamini has had to navigate, not only as a widow but also as a professional striving to maintain her integrity and dedication to her family.
