'Biggest Mole Removed': Gayathri Raguramm Amid Annamalai's Resignation Buzz

Actress-turned-politician Gayathri Raguramm has once again attacked her former boss and ex-Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai amid rumours of his resignation from the saffron party.

Without mentioning his name on X, she wrote, "Congratulations .@BJP4TamilNadu biggest mole removed." On numerous occasion, she had attacked him after he had decided not to contest in the Tamil Nadu polls.

Multiple reports have claimed that K Annamalai has resigned form the party after meeting President Nitin Nabin. It is reported that Annamalai submitted a five-page resignation letter to Nabin, despite efforts by party leaders to persuade him to reconsider. Following that meeting, he held an hour-long discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah before departing directly for Coimbatore, where he is expected to make a detailed public statement on his next steps in the coming days.

Annamalai also met senior RSS leaders during his visit, signaling an effort to ensure an amicable separation. The former Tamil Nadu BJP chief conveyed a desire to part ways cordially, without bitterness.

The resignation follows nearly six months of uncertainty after Annamalai was replaced as Tamil Nadu BJP president by Nainar Nagendran. While discussions had included possibilities such as a Rajya Sabha seat or a national organizational role, Annamalai's focus remained on building his political future in Tamil Nadu. The lack of clarity over that role ultimately pushed him toward the exit.

Some unconfirmed reports claim that he was offered a Rajya Sabha seat but he turned down the offer.

Under his leadership, the BJP garnered over 11% votes in the Lok Sabha polls despite the party not joining hands with the Dravidian majors like the DMK and AIADMK.

He is likely to float his own party that can give him freedom to express his views.
