Annamalai Faces Backlash Over 'Brain Should Be Examined' Comment On Kamal Haasan
The fans of Kamal Haasan have come down heavily on Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai after the latter attacked the actor saying that his "brain should be examined".
"This is outrageous & disgusting to comment on a Legend like #KamalHaasan sir. Looks like arrogance or overconfidence makes someone to speak like this. A comment should be replied with a proper reply & not thro' a personal attack," producer G Dhananjeyan expressed his anguish over Annamalai's comments.

It all started after Kamal Haasan claimed during a campaign that the national capital would be changed to Nagpur from New Delhi if the BJP came to power again.
Responding to Kamal's remarks, Annamalai said, "Anyone making such claims should be taken to a mental hospital and get their brain examined. Whether it's Kamal Haasan or anyone else, they need to check whether both the left and right brains are functioning properly, whether they are conscious, and whether they are eating their food properly. Kamal Haasan should be taken to a good psychiatrist and get professional advice. How can India's capital be shifted to Nagpur?"
The BJP leader further stated, "If he had claimed that Chennai must be made the summer or winter capital of the country I can accept that. So Kamal Haasan suddenly realised that Nagpur has the RSS's office and hence concluded that India's capital would be shifted to Nagpur. Kamal Haasan should get his head examined. Kamal Haasan should decide if he is speaking consciously or if he wants to clamour for a Rajya Sabha ticket like this from the DMK?"
The Tamil actor, during a campaign, alleged the BJP would attempt to change the national flag from its tricolour design to a single colour. He also spoke about the BJP's alleged plan to shift the national capital to Nagpur from New Delhi, asserting that this move would undermine the nation's secular fabric.
However, Annamalai's reaction has left the fans of Kamal Haasan angry and fuming. One user commented, "Someone teach him the term 'decorum' in politics. @ikamalhaasan will never ever pass such below the belt comments both in cinema and politics. That's what makes him class apart. Annamalai could've definitely worded his reply better!"
Another user commented, "#Annamalai doesn't possess even 5% of knowledge & talent that #KamalHaasan has. Ironically, he's is calling Kamal a mentally challenged person. He never maintains decency and civility in his language!"
The third user said, "You are a disgrace to Tamil Nadu @annamalai_k! Voters will respond to you for this disgusting comment against #Nammavar @ikamalhaasan. #BJP and you will regret this when you see #LokSabhaElections2024 results in the state."
One netizen stated, "#Annamalai is not even 1% of what #KamalHaasan is today in any matter be it knowledgeable or politics. So just because he adds ANNA or AKKA while talking doesn't mean he gives respect. First he needs to examine himself & learn decorum."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
