Alert: Travel On Chennai Metro On Dec 3 For Just Rs 5 Per Ticket: Condition Apply
Chennaities, please note down. You can travel on the Chennai Metro in Chennai on Sunday (December 3) for just Rs 5 per ticket. Yes on the occasion of its foundation day, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has come up with this special one-day offer to commuters.
However, this offer is only applicable to digital payments. It means you will not get the ticket for just Rs 5 if you buy tickets through cash. Commuters have to make e-QR tickets using Static QR, Paytm, WhatsApp, or PhonePe only, the CMRL said.

This one-day special offer encourages commuters to adopt digital payment.
"As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our gratitude to the people of Chennai, who have been instrumental in our success. This special fare is a token of our appreciation for their support and trust in CMRL," DT Next quoted Rajesh Chaturvedi, Director (Systems and Operations), CMRL, as saying.
"The single-journey e-QR ticket offer is exclusively valid on Sunday and applies solely to e-QR tickets. Please note that Singara Chennai Card, Travel Card, Store Value Pass through CMRL Mobile App and Paper QR are not eligible for this promotion, " the CMRL press release added.
