A Leader Who Spoke Less, Achieved More: MK Stalin Remembers Dr Manmohan Singh
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed his deep sorrow at the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 92. In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, Stalin praised Dr. Singh's intellect, leadership, and significant contributions to India's economic transformation.
A Statesman and a Visionary
"Deeply saddened by the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a statesman whose intellect and leadership steered India's economic transformation. His tenure marked an era of steady growth, social progress, and reforms that improved the lives of millions," Stalin wrote.

A Strong Bond with Tamil Nadu
Stalin highlighted the close partnership between Dr. Singh and DMK patriarch, the late M. Karunanidhi, affectionately referred to as "Thalaivar Kalaignar." Their collaboration, he said, played a crucial role in advancing Tamil Nadu's development through vital projects and policies.
"Dr. Manmohan Singh valued Tamil Nadu's aspirations, ensuring that the voices of the South resonated in national policies. Even during turbulent times, Dr. Singh and Thalaivar Kalaignar stood together, exemplifying the strength of coalition politics built on trust and respect for regional identities," Stalin remarked.
A Leader of Quiet Strength
The Chief Minister praised Dr. Singh's calm and thoughtful leadership, describing him as a leader who prioritized action over rhetoric. Stalin acknowledged Singh's modesty and deep understanding of Tamil Nadu's needs, which strengthened the state's role in India's growth story.

To the people of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Manmohan Singh was not only a Prime Minister but a friend of the state. His modesty, despite his vast knowledge and stature, left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him," the Tamil Nadu CM added.
Condolences to Family and Nation
On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu and the DMK party, Stalin extended his condolences to Dr. Singh's family, friends, and the Indian National Congress. He emphasized that Dr. Singh's legacy of wisdom, humility, and service would continue to inspire generations.
