77 people died for ‘Amma’, claims AIADMK

Running into 3 pages, the name list included 77 names of people who, the AIADMK claims, died due to shock over Jayalalithaa's critical illness and eventual death

The AIADMK on Wednesday announced that 77 people had died following Jayalalithaa's illness and eventual death. The party released a compiled list of names of those who died and the districts they belonged to.

Running into 3 pages, the name list included 77 names of people who, the AIADMK claims, died due to shock over Jayalalithaa's critical illness and eventual death. The AIADMK however, has kept mum on how they arrived at the number. Going one step forward, the party has announced compensation of Rs 3 lakh to kin of each deceased person.

The AIADMK had previously claimed that more than 60 people had died due to shock after Jayalalithaa was jailed following her conviction by a special court in disproportionate assets case.
