4 coaches of Chennai-Mangalore Express derails, 39 injured

Chennai, Sept 4: Four coaches of the Chennai-Mangalore train derailed today morning in Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu.

39 people were injured in the accident.

Chennai-Mangalore train derails

The accident took place at around 2.30 am. Meanwhile, rescue work is on to remove the derailed coaches from the tracks.

Meanwhile, officials said that Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was monitoring the situation.

Rail traffic was disrupted on the busy route. Several trains were halted at nearby stations. They were later operated on alternative route but were running late, officials added.
