10th & 12th not needed….8th pass is enough…..Incredible idea of Tamil Nadu government
If you are someone who didn't write 12th exam or if you are 12th fail, do not worry about waiting for another year to write the exam or about wasting a year, Tamil Nadu government has a better idea from its idea bundle. To get rid of fear and to move forward in life, a counselling camp is being held to guide the school dropouts. For pursuing vocational education, it is not mandatory to complete 12th standard. Career guidance cells in Tamil Nadu are functioning to make the students aware of this fact and also to make opportunities for the school dropouts to pursue vocational studies.
Hema Rupa is a student who completed only 10th standard and joined polytechnic college based on the advice of the government career guidance cells. Now she is studying in Central Polytechnic College in Tharamani, Chennai which will help her in developing skills needed for employment. Pon Jothi is a student in the same college and she said, "Our college consists of advanced lab facilities which is helpful in gaining direct experience by applying the theory part practically. The satisfaction of learning thoroughly and the guarantee of placement made by the college administration gives us hope."

Another student from the same college Yash Ahmad said, "My travel from Tiruvottiyur to Tharamani is taken care of by the Tamil Nadu government in the form of provision of free bus passes which eliminates the financial constraints of students. Apart from this, college is also providing incentives and scholarships."

Tamil Nadu government, in a way of getting rid of financial constraints of students provides free books, uniforms etc. As per career counsellors, the students of Central Polytechnic College have the boon of studying without any hardships and getting placed in the campus interview with a quality job in their hands.

Venkatesh who completed 12th standard and joined the college said, "I am a Mechanical Engineering student, joined in the second year because of my completion of 12th standard. I opted for this college because it offers a variety of disciplines like EEE, ECE, Mechanical and even fisheries which increases the opportunities for employment in MNCs. I vouch for this college which helps students in developing same level of skill sets as any other engineering college students."

About the vocational courses, the Senior Technical officer of Central Polytechnic College said, "The maximum qualification needed to join a polytechnic college is 10th standard. Students who haven't passed 10th standard can opt for ITI (Industrial Training Institute) courses. Not graduating high school is not a big deal anymore, students can carry forward their life without having to fear about the future. Polytechnic and ITI courses also give great opportunities for employment. So, use this rare and wonderful opportunity given to you by the Tamil Nadu government and reach great heights in life."

A single decision today will change the course of your life. Aim high and reach high!!!!
