Sukhbir Singh Badal engaged in all money making businesses: Congress

accusing him of "making money" through controversial contracts and involvement in business ventures like hotels and liquor.

The reaction came on day when Badal accused Congress of "selling" Lok Sabha tickets to aspirants.

"What to react on nonsensical remarks. Sukbhir knows everything be it contracts, hotels, liquor or sand mining. A number of big hotels on the periphery of Delhi are his property. He is engaged in all sorts of business.

"He should first look at himself and desist from making such remarks. These activities are going to boomerang in the polls and what will happen you see on May 16 (counting day)," senior Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma told reporters.

After inducting sitting Congress MP from Fatehgarh Sahib Sukhdev Singh Libra into SAD, Badal today said, "Congress is selling Lok Sabha tickets...poor Congressmen who are keen to enter the fray with limited resources are dumping the party."

He alleged that the decisions taken by the Congress are by a chosen few and no grassroot level worker is taken into confidence. "Those who are getting tickets in Congress are getting them only by paying huge money," he claimed.

Sukhbir claimed that Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Santosh Choudhary, who was among the front runner from her bastion Hoshiarpur, was denied ticket by the Congress and she had alleged that she could not afford money to pay for a Lok Sabha ticket.

Congress had fielded sitting Jalandhar MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee from that seat. Badal had a fortnight back taken potshots at Congress President Sonia Gandhi saying, "Like most people in Punjab, we eat sarson da saag and makki di roti. However, Congress president Sonia Gandhi does not like Indian food and only eats pizzas".
