Union Budget 2025: Netizens Flood Funny Memes As Nirmala Set To Present Eighth Consecutive Budget

As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gears up to present the Union Budget 2025 on February 1 at 11 AM, social media is buzzing with memes, particularly focusing on middle-class struggles, price hikes, and yearly budget expectations.

Record-Breaking Budget Presentation

With this budget, Sitharaman creates history by becoming the first Finance Minister to present eight consecutive Union Budgets. The previous record was held by Morarji Desai, who presented six consecutive budgets during his tenure. This milestone makes Sitharaman the longest-serving finance minister to deliver budgets in succession.

Budget Presentation: Where to Watch?

The Union Budget 2025 presentation will be broadcast live on Doordarshan, Sansad TV, and official Parliament channels. It will also be streamed on the government's official YouTube channels, X handles, and various news platforms.

For those looking to access the budget details, all official documents-including the Annual Financial Statement, Demand for Grants (DG), and Finance Bill-will be available on the Union Budget Mobile App as well as on the official budget website (www.indiabudget.gov.in).

Meanwhile, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has requested the Centre to introduce joint income tax filing in Budget 2025 for married couples.

In its pre-budget suggestion to the Finance Ministry, the ICAI said, "It is suggested to introduce an option for joint taxation of married couples by filing a joint return of income. Individuals may be given an option to pay tax under the Joint Taxation Scheme. They can choose to pay tax individually under the present scheme of taxation or opt for joint taxation of self and spouse."

Memes Take Over Social Media

As anticipation builds, netizens have taken a humorous approach to the budget discussions, with memes highlighting rising costs of essential goods and services. Every year, social media sees a flood of relatable content reflecting the middle class's financial woes, and Budget 2025 is no exception.

With the budget just days away, all eyes will be on Sitharaman as she unveils the government's financial roadmap for the upcoming year. Whether the budget brings relief or more challenges remains to be seen, but one thing is certain-the internet is already having a field day!
