Gold, Silver Price City-Wise On June 3: Check Latest Rates in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, & More

Donald Trump's tariff disputes with China and the European Union, ongoing geopolitical tensions due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and investor caution ahead of the upcoming US Federal Reserve interest rate decision are all contributing to a sharp rise in gold prices.

Silver has surged past the ₹1 lakh/kg mark, as investors increasingly turn to safe-haven assets amid ongoing market volatility.

On 2 June (Monday), gold futures contracts dated 5 June rose by 1.7 per cent or ₹1,630 per 10 grams.

During the same session, spot gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) touched an intraday high of ₹97,505 per 10 grams, marking a gain of around ₹2,000. On the US-based Comex exchange, gold prices stood at $3,373 per ounce as of 6:42 am EDT, reflecting a 1.74 per cent increase.

Since January, gold has delivered a 25 per cent return, with a year-on-year increase of 40 per cent. Data also indicates that gold has yielded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 per cent since 2001 and has consistently outpaced inflation by 2-4 per cent since 1995.

Prices continued to climb early on 3 June. At 7:20 am, the MCX gold index stood at ₹96,781 per 10 grams, according to the official website. MCX silver prices were reported at ₹1,00,098 per kg.

According to data from the Indian Bullion Association (IBA) at the same time, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹98,010 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was at ₹89,843 per 10 grams. Silver (999 fine) was listed at ₹1,01,300 per kg.
