Crowdstrike Confirms Defect In Windows Update Causing Global Outage, Fix In Place
Crowdstrike CEO George Kurtz has confirmed that the company is actively working with customers affected by a defect in a recent Windows update that has caused the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error, leading to sudden system shutdowns and restarts.
The issue has reportedly impacted millions of Windows users globally, including companies, banks, and government offices. Crowdstrike's Falcon Sensor update has been identified as the root cause of the problem.

According to Kurtz, Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted by the issue, which he emphasized is not a security incident or cyberattack. He assured that the problem has been isolated, a fix has been deployed, and customers can find updates on the support portal.
"Our team is fully mobilized to ensure the security and stability of our customers," Kurtz said.
