Chennai Gold Rate Today (April 9): Check Latest IBJA Price In Tamil Nadu's Leading Jewellery Shops

Gold prices across leading jewellery chains in Tamil Nadu remained largely steady on April 9, with most retailers quoting similar rates for both 22 karat and 24 karat gold, reflecting a stable trend in the domestic bullion market.

According to data compiled from Oneindia from Chennai's major jewellers, the price of 24 karat gold hovered around ₹15,150-₹15,273 per gram, while 22 karat gold was largely priced between ₹13,885 and ₹14,200 per gram. Silver prices, too, remained mostly unchanged, trading near ₹260 per gram across Chennai and other key cities.

At GRT Jewellers, one of the state's leading retail chains, 24 karat gold was priced at ₹15,158 per gram, while 22 karat stood at ₹13,885. Lower purity variants such as 18 karat and 14 karat were sold at ₹11,369 and ₹8,842 per gram respectively. Silver was quoted at ₹260 per gram.

A similar pricing pattern was observed at Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, where 24 karat gold was also retailing at ₹15,158 per gram and 22 karat at ₹13,885. Silver prices matched GRT's levels at ₹260 per gram, indicating uniformity among top-tier jewellers.

At Lalitha Jewellery, 22 karat gold was available at ₹13,885 per gram, while silver continued to be priced at ₹260. Meanwhile, Jeyachandran Gold House quoted slightly higher rates, with 24 karat gold at ₹15,273 and 22 karat at ₹14,000 per gram, suggesting minor variations based on sourcing and premium factors.

Jewellery retailer Swarna Maligai reported 22 karat gold at ₹14,200 per gram and 18 karat at ₹11,860, while silver was priced slightly higher at ₹265 per gram compared to competitors.

In Coimbatore, Kota Gold Jewellery listed 24 karat gold at ₹15,273 per gram and 22 karat at ₹14,000, aligning with the upper end of the price spectrum seen in Chennai.

At D.A.R Jewellery, 22 karat gold (91.6 purity) was priced at ₹13,885 per gram, while 18 karat stood at ₹11,369. The store offered multiple silver categories, ranging from ₹225 to ₹250 per gram depending on purity, with 99.9 gold bars quoted at ₹15,430.

Similarly, Thangamayil Jewellery maintained 22 karat gold at ₹13,885 and 24 karat at ₹15,147 per gram. Silver was steady at ₹260, while platinum was priced at ₹7,363 per gram.

Overall, jewellers across Tamil Nadu displayed a high degree of price alignment on April 9, with only marginal differences across outlets. The consistency suggests stable underlying market conditions, even as global cues such as currency movement and geopolitical developments continue to influence bullion trends.
