Bihar Elections 2020: Assembly wise schedule, date of polling and counting

New Delhi, 05: The three phase Bihar Assembly Election 2020 would begin on October 8.

Last week, the Election Commission of India had announced the dates for the Bihar election.

In the first phase, elections would be held in 71 assembly constituencies. In the second phase polling will be held in 94 assembly seats while in the third and final one it would on 78 seats.

This is the first election that is being fought since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. The Election Commission said that arrangements have been made for 7 lakh sanitisers, 46 lakh masks, 6 lakh PPE kits, 6 lakh units of face shields and 23 units of hand gloves.

In 2015, Bihar recorded a high turn out of 58 per cent. This time around the challenge is immense owing to the ongoing pandemic and also the fact that 18 districts have been hit by floods.
