Witchcraft fear: Man beheads elderly woman in MP
According to a news report, the horrific incident took place in Pand village located in Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh.
After commiting the crime, the accused, Hari Shankar Gond alias Jhurru carried the deceased woman, Meerawati Gond's severed head and an axe in other hand to the Majhauli police station "to confess".
Accused had no regrets about the crime.
AN Jharia, the Station House Officer (SHO) said, "The accused walked around 4 kilometres with the head of the deceased. When he was about to reach the police station, we were informed and he was arrested."
"The accused appeared mentally stable but had no regrets about the crime. He alleged that the woman had killed his family members in the past couple of years with her witchcraft", he further said.
However, Jhurru told police that he had got into a brawl with the woman over a log wood, adding that "if he had not murdered her, she would have killed him by witchcraft".
The dead body has been sent for the post-mortem and Jhurru has been booked for murder.
