YouTube Video by Sameer MD on Dharmasthala Soujanya Case Deleted? Fans Seek Answers
A YouTube video by Sameer MD, a popular Kannada YouTuber, on his channel Dhootha, discussing the Dharmasthala Soujanya case, has reportedly been deleted, sparking widespread discussions on social media, particularly Instagram. Users claim that the video is no longer accessible, though some suggest it can still be viewed using a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
The buzz intensified when an Instagram post from @officialmemes_07 highlighted the video's disappearance, leading to speculation about the reasons behind its removal.

Meanwhile, a user on X (formerly Twitter) commented on the credibility of Sameer MD's investigative work, acknowledging that while some details may have been inaccurate, his dedication to producing quality and neutral content should be appreciated. The user also expressed hope that Sameer MD's influence would encourage more Kannada YouTubers to take up investigative journalism.
Sameer MD is known for his in-depth analysis, engaging presentations, and well-researched content. As of now, neither YouTube nor Sameer MD has provided an official explanation regarding the video's status, leaving many in a state of speculation. However, despite being checked on YouTube, the video remains available and has already garnered 4.7 million views.
The Dharmasthala Soujanya Case
The controversy surrounding the video ties into the ongoing debate over the Dharmasthala Soujanya case, which has remained unresolved for over a decade. On September 13, 2024, the Karnataka High Court ruled against a plea for a fresh investigation into the 2012 rape and murder of 17-year-old Soujanya, a student at SDM College, Ujire. The court upheld the acquittal of the sole accused, Santhosh Rao, stating that the trial court had thoroughly assessed the evidence and that a reinvestigation would not yield any new benefits.
Soujanya's father, Chandappa Gowda had urged the court to direct the CBI to reopen the case, but the High Court dismissed the plea, citing insufficient evidence against Santhosh Rao.
The case, dating back to October 9, 2012, lacked eyewitness accounts and relied heavily on circumstantial evidence. The court also raised concerns over the availability of any potential new evidence after such a long time, given the lack of timely collection during the initial investigation.
Regarding compensation sought by Santhosh Rao for wrongful prosecution, the court stated that he could pursue an independent legal action through the appropriate channels.
As the Dharmasthala Soujanya case continues to be a subject of public interest, the developments surrounding Sameer MD's video have only added to the intrigue. It remains unclear whether the video's removal, as widely mentioned on social media, was a platform decision or the creator's choice.
A very informative video exposing the Dharmasthala Heggade family. This family is disgusting.
