A weather system stationed over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify and develop into a depression within the next 48 to 72 hours, bringing heavy rainfall across Karnataka, particularly in the interior regions. Bengaluru has already been experiencing heavy rains since the morning, resulting in overflowing roads and drains. Reports of fallen trees across various parts of the city have caused considerable disruptions, prompting local authorities to take action.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings forecasting continued heavy rainfall in Bengaluru over the next three days. In response to the adverse weather conditions, District Commissioner Jagadish has announced that all schools and colleges in Bengaluru will remain closed tomorrow, October 16.

An official order regarding this announcement is anticipated to be released after 5 PM today.
