With the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) announcing white-topping work on roads from Rajajinagar 1st Block to Dr Rajkumar Road for at least five months, all vehicular movement on this stretch has been prohibited starting Thursday.

Vehicles coming from the Iskcon entry should proceed towards Star Circle (Modi bridge), take a left to reach Navarang Circle, and then continue towards 10th Cross, Dr Rajkumar Road.

Vehicles coming from Mahalakshmi Layout below the flyover should turn right at Star Circle (Modi bridge), proceed to Navarang Circle, and then head towards 10th Cross.

Vehicles coming from the Rajajinagar metro station should make a U-turn at the 1st Block Junction, reach Star Circle (Modi bridge), and take a left to Navarang Junction. Alternatively, vehicles from the Rajajinagar metro station can go straight towards GSF to reach 10th Cross.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar recently announced that the state government would invest Rs 1,800 crore to white-top 157 km of roads in Bengaluru. "The roads in Bengaluru are prone to potholes. Hence, we will white-top roads under the Sugama Sanchara Bengaluru and Brand Bengaluru initiatives," he stated. This announcement came after he inaugurated the white-topping of a 19.67 km stretch of roads in Chamarajpet, Gandhinagar, Malleshwaram, and Mahalakshmipura, at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
