Reports from officials reveal that at the time the fire broke out at the SV Coach garage, there were approximately 42 individuals working on the premises. Prompt response came in the form of two fire tenders, dispatched to combat the raging blaze.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the incident transpired around 10:45-11 am, with a pungent odor signaling the onset of the fire. A report in HT quoting an eyewitness reads, "The incident occurred around 10:45-11am. We smelt something foul and saw the fire coming from a bus when we went tracing it. Then it spread to other buses. Around 40 workers got scared and ran out of the garage. But we did manage to save 5-6 buses,"

A bus owner expressed his distress saying, "One of my buses which met with an accident was at the garage for repair. The bus had not been fixed for six months. Today, I was informed about this incident,"

A video capturing the incident was shared by the news agency ANI, offering a glimpse of the dramatic scene. In the video, a thick cloud of black smoke billows from the depot, underlining the intensity of the fire.

Preliminary investigations by officials point to a possible short circuit as the likely ignition source. A fire department official was quoted saying, "The workers were fixing one of the emergency exits of a bus, and the fire spread to other buses parked near it. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained," as per the HT report.
