Voice of Namma Metro, Aparna, Now Resonates Across 85 Stations After Yellow Line Launch

Aparna, the beloved actress and presenter, continues to be remembered fondly by fans across Karnataka. Before her passing from cancer in July last year, she recorded voice announcements for Bengaluru Metro. Now, her iconic voice has been added to the Yellow Line Metro, bringing comfort and nostalgia to thousands of daily commuters.

Yellow Line Launched

On August 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Yellow Line, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra. The 16-station route has become even more special for commuters, as it features Aparna's soothing announcements.

Earlier,, her voice could be heard on the Green and Purple Lines - now, with the addition of the Yellow Line, her reach extends to all three major metro lines in Bengaluru.

Fulfilling a Public Wish

Many Kannada-speaking commuters had hoped to hear Aparna’s voice on the Namma metro Yellow Line as well. Despite technical challenges, metro officials confirmed that in April–May 2024, her voice was recorded while she was still undergoing treatment. Her dedication during her illness is being praised widely on social media.
