Train heading towards Kerala ends up in North Karnataka

ended up in Gulbarga in North Karnataka, leaving its passengers stunned. The bizarre incident happened on Tuesday. The train had been sent on a wrong route from Pune and reached elsewhere. Gulbarga is about 1099 kilometres away from Ernakulam.

Sources said the train was on track till 10.30 pm on Monday and it was only at Punwale in Maharashtra that it would be diverted towards Pune due to an accident near Ratnagiri and it would go Wadgaum in Goa via Miraj, also in Maharashtra. The train was diverted towards Solapur from Pune and it ended up in Gulbarga.

The passengers contacted the station master at Solapur after reaching there at 6 am. They were told that the train would be diverted to Hubli in Karnataka. Many of the passengers got off at Gulbarga and took buses to reach their respective destinations.
