Track Your Ride: Bengaluru's Namma Metro Launches QR Code Feature For BMTC Feeder Bus Information

Passengers of Namma Metro in Bengaluru can now access real-time information about BMTC feeder bus services operating from Metro stations. This new feature allows commuters to track the buses and know their expected arrival times, enhancing the overall travel experience.

To avail of this facility, Metro passengers simply need to scan a QR code, which will be available at Metro stations and will redirect them to the 'Namma BMTC' mobile app. This app, equipped with the necessary features, enables users to plan their journeys more effectively and make informed decisions about their travel routes.

BMTC managing director Ramachandran R highlighted the importance of feeder services, stating that over 1 lakh passengers rely on them for their daily commute. Currently, 43 out of 66 operational Metro stations are linked with feeder buses, providing a seamless travel experience for commuters.

The introduction of this QR code-based system is part of BMTC's efforts to increase the patronage of city bus services and complement the Metro services. This initiative is expected to benefit a large number of commuters who rely on public transportation in Bengaluru.

The official also mentioned that BMTC is working on additional initiatives to further improve the city's public transportation system. This move is likely to encourage more people to opt for public transport, thereby reducing congestion and pollution on the city's roads.

The Metro Feeder BMTC (MF Buses) operates 61 bus routes in Bengaluru, serving 142 bus stops. These routes span from the Chikkannapalya stop to the Kannamangala stop and from the Guniagrahara stop to the Brigade Meadows Kanakapura Road stop.
