Ticket Fare Rounding Off By KSRTC Suspended To Streamline Fare Transactions
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced a significant update regarding the rounding off of bus fares. This change primarily affects male passengers who travel frequently. The fare rounding system was previously implemented only on premium service buses, specifically 400 buses, but has now been suspended. Transport department officials confirmed this decision on Friday.
Previously, the fare rounding system applied to tickets purchased through ETM and Avatar counters. For instance, if the fare ranged from Rs. 101 to Rs. 105, passengers were charged Rs. 100. Similarly, fares between Rs. 106 and Rs. 109 were rounded up to Rs. 110. However, with the successful implementation of UPI in KSRTC, the decision has been made to discontinue this system.

Transport Department's Decision
Officials from the transport department have discussed and reached this conclusion to suspend the rounding off system. They are also working on making some changes to the related software as part of this decision. This move is expected to streamline fare transactions for passengers using KSRTC services.
In addition to these changes, KSRTC recently announced a special tour package covering seven religious sites within the Kolar region. This service is designed for weekend travelers and offers a one-day trip starting from Kempegowda Bus Station Majestic in the morning and returning by night.
New Recruitment Initiatives
To enhance passenger services further, KSRTC plans to recruit around 8,000 staff members in total, with approximately 2,000 already hired. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy provided details about these recruitment orders during an announcement.
This initiative aims to improve service quality for passengers while ensuring efficient operations across various routes served by KSRTC buses.
