Nairobi attack
Bangalore, Sept 24: Sudarshan B. Nagaraj, the third Indian who was among the 62 killed in the Nairobi terror attack, was a 50-year-old businessman from Bangalore, his elder brother Ramprasad said Tuesday.

"Sudarshan is the youngest among three brothers and one sister. He was a partner in our joint business of manufacturing farm equipment here," a grieving Ramprasad told reporters at his residence at Mavalli in the southern suburb of the city.

Incidentally, Sudarshan, who was on a business trip to Kenya, landed in Nairobi a day before the Sep 21 terror strike in the Westgate mall, where he went shopping for books.

"We have been trying to contact him in vain since Saturday night after we learnt through television about the incident in Nairobi. We did not know that he was at the mall when the terrorists struck," Ramprasad said.

The Indian High Commission in Nairobi informed the family about the death of Sudarshan earlier in the day.

"We are waiting to know from the high commission when his (Sudarshan's) body will be flown to Bangalore," Ramprasad added.

Somalia-based militant group Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the shooting spree in Westgate mall. Four Indians are also among the nearly 200 injured.
