Terrified Leopard Cub Takes Shelter Under Bus Near Turahalli Forest In Bengaluru, WATCH VIDEO

An 8-month-old leopard cub was sighted in the Turahalli forest area on the outskirts of Bengaluru, causing panic among residents. The cub sought refuge in a parked truck near the forest and was later rescued by a team of forest officials.

A dramatic incident involving the cub was captured on camera, showing it charging at a man near a road. The man narrowly escaped as the cub jumped towards him but missed and landed in front of a BMTC bus.

Leopard Cub Takes Shelter Under Bus

The incident began when the leopard and cub wandered onto the busy road. The cub then took refuge under the bus, prompting the driver to take quick action. The driver, along with the conductor, alerted passengers to stay inside the bus and avoid provoking the scared animal.

Driver's Attempt to Help

In a display of compassion, the bus driver attempted to offer water to the cub. However, the frightened cub reacted defensively.

Upon receiving information about the incident, forest department personnel arrived at the scene. They successfully rescued the leopard cub, reuniting it with its mother who was believed to be searching for it nearby.

Leopard sightings in and around Bengaluru are not uncommon. In November 2023, residents were on edge after multiple sightings of a leopard in residential areas. CCTV footage showed the leopard in the basement parking area and elevator lobby of an apartment. Despite efforts to rescue it, the leopard was shot dead.

Earlier, in 2023, a leopard near Kengeri was captured by the forest department. In 2022, two leopards were spotted in the outskirts of the city, one near the Turahalli state forest area and the other not far from the Kempegowda International Airport.
