Bengaluru: Speeding water tanker kills 2, injures 5

Bengaluru, Feb 26: Two persons were mowed down and five others injured as a water tanker ploughed into pedestrians crossing a road, the horrific visuals of which were captured by a CCTV camera.

Visuals showed the tanker speeding menacingly as the pedestrians were crossing the road at a zebra crossing, knocking down a man pushing a two-wheeler and hitting others.

Police said the driver could not control and stop the tanker at the signal and moved further, causing the accident.

The driver had been arrested and was being questioned, police said, adding that the injured had been admitted to the nearby hospital.
