Obscene Videos Case: Prajwal Revanna To Return To Bengaluru From Germany On May 3

JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, the key figure in the controversial video of the Hassan Pen Drive Case, is set to return to Bengaluru from Frankfurt, Germany, on May 3. His arrival has generated significant interest in Karnataka politics.

Prajwal is said to have booked a ticket with Luptansa Airlines for a May 3 journey, with an expected arrival at Kempegowda International Airport around midnight. There are indications that he may attend a hearing on May 4, or he could be taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) upon his arrival.

Prajwal had left the country on the day of the first phase of voting. He holds a business visa and had traveled to Germany on a tourist visa, which is valid for 90 days. According to section CRPC 41A, individuals can be arrested if they fail to appear in response to a notice.

Home Minister Parameshwar stated that there will be no sudden arrest in this case. He emphasized the importance of evidence and complaints in determining whether an arrest can be made and whether it will be a bail or non-bail case. A notice under section 41A CRPC has been issued, requiring Prajwal's attendance within 24 hours.

The SIT considers Prajwal's statement crucial to the investigation, as the cases stem from videos allegedly involving him. A notice was pasted on the door of the house of former minister HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna, instructing them to attend the SIT investigation.

The allegations against the father-son duo include charges of sexual harassment, stalking, intimidation, and demeaning a woman. These accusations stem from a complaint filed by a woman who was employed at Revanna's residence.

HD Revanna has stated that Prajwal will cooperate with the investigation. The SIT has already issued an inquiry notice and is considering issuing a red corner or lookout notice through Interpol if Prajwal fails to respond.

The SIT has interrogated the driver Karthik Gowda and recorded the statement of the victim. Further statements are expected under CRPC 164. Karthik's mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination.

Despite the intensification of the SIT investigation, HD Revanna has gone to Dindir. It is reported that a havan is being performed at his house in Holenarasipur to overcome the challenges faced.

The scandal involving Prajwal's sex tape surfaces in the wake of the Karnataka government's decision to establish a SIT to investigate a collection of explicit videos circulating in Hassan district. These videos purportedly depict sexual acts involving the 33-year-old leader with multiple women, leading to accusations of abuse and assault. Initial findings indicate that a pen drive recovered in Hassan contains 2,976 videos, ranging from a few seconds to several minutes in length. Most of these videos appear to have been recorded on a mobile phone at the residences of the Revannas in Bengaluru and Hassan.
