Obscene Videos Case: SIT Summons Prajwal Revanna, Father For Questioning

Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and his father, senior JD(S) leader HD Revanna, have been summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police for questioning in connection with an alleged sex scandal case, according to sources.

Previously, a case was registered against the father-son duo for charges including sexual harassment, stalking, intimidation, and outraging the dignity of a woman. The complaint was filed by a woman who had worked in Revanna's house.

The FIR was transferred to the SIT, led by BK Singh, Additional Director-General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, which was formed to investigate the alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna. This move came after several explicit videos purportedly involving Prajwal Revanna were circulated.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has demanded a detailed report from the Karnataka Police within three days regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct against Prajwal Revanna.

Expressing serious concern over the circulation of numerous objectionable videos on social media allegedly showing Prajwal Revanna sexually assaulting several women, the NCW questioned the decision to allow Prajwal Revanna to leave the country after the second phase of Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka on April 26, despite the complaint and the absence of police action or arrest.

Prajwal Revanna, who is the NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, was suspended from the JD(S) on Tuesday amidst the controversy surrounding the explicit videos.

HD Revanna stated that he and his son Prajwal were open to investigation regarding the allegations of sexual abuse and were prepared to face legal action if the charges were proven.

Claiming that there was a political motive behind the issue, the elder son of JD(S) patriarch and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda assured that his son Prajwal Revanna would cooperate with the probe whenever required.
