Security guard assaulted by Blinkit delivery executive in Bengaluru | Watch

A private security guard of a housing society in Bengaluru was allegedly assaulted a grocery delivery partner associated with Blinkit. The incident took place on Thursday in Chokkanahalli a neighbourhood near Jakkur in North Bengaluru.

According to reports, the assault took place near Nakshatra Apartment after the delivery partners were asked to make an entry before entering the apartment.

Taking to micro-blogging platform Twitter, Parthiban Madhivanan wrote, "@BlrCityPolice Dear Sir, yesterday in an incident our society's security was beaten by Blinkit delivery guys, and later a group came to threatening us. It's was just requested to make the entry. We request you to protect us from these kind of rogues.''

In the CCTV footage, one can see the delivery boys entering the apartment complex and being stopped by the security staff. The rider then points to the security staff, heads towards him, and shoves him.

The pillion rider, who was carrying the Blinkit delivery bag, also joined him during the altercation. They were then seen leaving the complex.

The incident is the latest in a series of episodes of conflicts caught on camera in recent months involving security guards of housing society.

Earlier in the month of October last year, a security guard of a housing society in Noida and a food delivery partner associated with Zomato were arrested after a fight between them went viral on various social media platforms. The duo were booked under CrPC sections 107 (related to maintenance of peace and public tranquillity) and 116 (magistrate's inquiry into the truth of information upon which action has been taken), police officials informed.
