While the district-wide holiday hasn't been officially declared, Belthangady continues to experience recurring school closures due to relentless rain over the past week. School Holidays in Joida and Dandeli Following Orange Alert

In Uttara Kannada district, authorities have declared a one-day holiday on June 26 for all educational institutions in Joida and Dandeli taluks, including Anganwadis, primary, and high schools. This move follows an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and has been enacted under Section 34(m) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The Deputy Commissioners and respective education department officials have been directed to enforce the holiday strictly and ensure that the academic calendar is adjusted accordingly.

In Madikeri taluk of Kodagu district, a Red Alert from the IMD has led to the declaration of a school holiday on June 26, which also includes degree colleges. Heavy rainfall and strong winds on June 25 prompted the taluk administration to take preventive measures to ensure student and staff safety.
