YouTuber Sameer MD Accused of Misleading Public With AI Videos, Gets Third Notice Over Dharmasthala Case

Popular YouTuber Sameer MD has now been served with a third police notice in connection with the allegation that he had broadcast a video on the 'Dhootha' Youtube channel alleging that bodies were buried in Dhamrshathala village.

According to reports, police teams visited both his Bellary residence and his rental house in Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, to deliver the summons. Authorities have directed him to appear either at the Belthangady Police Station or the Dharmasthala Police Station for questioning.

On July 12, a case was registered at the Dharmasthala police station in connection with the AI-generated video. Sameer was served notices three times, and Dharmasthala police even traveled to Bengaluru to arrest him. However, he managed to secure anticipatory bail.

The controversy has taken a political turn. Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka alleged that a deliberate conspiracy was being played out to malign religious institutions.

Speaking outside Vidhana Soudha, Ashoka said,"Leftist groups have conspired in the Dharmasthala matter. Their motive was to tarnish the names of Tirupati, Dharmasthala, and Ayyappa. Sameer MD, using his AI-generated YouTube videos, has played a key role in misleading the public."

Sameer MD has been accused of creating and circulating AI-driven videos that influenced public opinion during the Dharmasthala case proceedings. SIT officials and local police are continuing their investigation, with further action likely if he fails to respond to the third notice.
