RCB vs GT Head to Head: Namma Metro Updated Timings for IPL Match Days in Bengaluru
RCB vs GT Head to Head: Royal Challengers Bangalore will aim to make their homecoming unforgettable as they face Gujarat Titans in an IPL showdown at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
To cater to cricket fans traveling to and from IPL T20 matches in Bengaluru, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced an extension of metro services on match days. The last trains from all four terminal stations will depart at 12:30 am, with the final train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) leaving at 1:15 am. These extended timings will be available on April 2, 10, 18, and 24, as well as May 3, 13, and 17, coinciding with the scheduled IPL matches in the city. The affected metro stations include Whitefield (Kadugodi), Challaghatta, Silk Institute, and Madavara.

The BMRCL shared this update on social media, posting: "Good news for cricket fans! Metro services will be extended for IPL 2025 Bengaluru matches. Check the media release for more details."
This extension is aimed at providing better convenience for the thousands of fans attending matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and other key venues. With IPL matches typically running late, the extended metro services will offer a smoother transportation option, reducing reliance on private vehicles and alleviating traffic congestion.
The BMRCL has encouraged commuters to plan their travel accordingly and make use of the extended metro hours. It has also requested that print and electronic media help spread the word about the updated schedule for the public's benefit.
RCB vs GT Head to Head:
GT had a rocky start to their season, losing their opening game to Punjab Kings. Yet, they managed a swift comeback with a decisive 36-run victory over Mumbai Indians, steering their campaign in the right direction. This resilience sets the stage for an intriguing showdown with RCB.
As both teams prepare for their imminent clash, the squad lists are as follows: Gujarat Titans include notable players like Shubman Gill (C), Jos Buttler, and Kagiso Rabada. Royal Challengers Bengaluru's team features Rajat Patidar (C), Virat Kohli, and Devdutt Padikkal among others. This assemblage of talent promises a highly competitive match.
The head-to-head record between RCB and GT shows a fiercely contested rivalry. In their five IPL encounters, RCB has won three times, while GT has claimed two victories. Their rivalry began in 2022 when GT, in their debut season, defeated RCB by six wickets, repeating the feat in their next encounter. However, RCB bounced back in the subsequent seasons, particularly in 2024, with two impressive victories over GT, taking the lead in their head-to-head record. RCB's highest total in these matchups stands at 206 runs, while GT's best score is 200.
Given Bengaluru's notorious traffic issues, the expanded metro service is expected to offer a more efficient and eco-friendly travel alternative for cricket fans heading home late at night.
