Ranya Rao Divorce: Husband Jatin Hukkeri Distances Himself Seeks Separation as Bail Plea Fails

Actress Ranya Rao, who is currently in jail for her alleged involvement in a gold smuggling case, is facing yet another personal setback. Her husband, Jatin Hukkeri, has decided to file for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and a troubled marriage. The move comes after Ranya's bail application was rejected, further deepening the crisis in her life.

Marriage That Turned Sour

Ranya and Jatin met through a marriage broker and had their first meeting at Bastian Garden City Restaurant located near St. Marks Road in Bengaluru on October 6, 2024. Their relationship progressed quickly, leading to an engagement on October 23, 2024, followed by a lavish wedding at the Taj West End Hotel on November 27, 2024. The couple moved into a rented apartment on Lavelle Road after their marriage.

However, their marital life soon took a turn for the worse. According to Jatin's petition filed in the High Court, their relationship lacked transparency and effective communication. Despite multiple attempts by relatives to mediate, the differences between them only grew wider.

Ranya's Frequent Trips to Dubai Raised Doubts

Trouble escalated when Ranya started frequently travelling to Dubai within two months of their marriage. Her repeated visits raised suspicions, leading to heated arguments between the couple. The situation worsened when Jatin allegedly found her involvement in gold smuggling, along with her friend Virat Konduru, also known as Tarun Raj Konduru. A Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) investigation later confirmed that Tarun was responsible for smuggling gold from Dubai to Bengaluru.

Jatin's Legal Move Amidst Ranya's Arrest

Following Ranya's arrest, DRI officials also questioned Jatin regarding her alleged crimes. Fearing possible arrest, he approached the Karnataka High Court, where senior advocate Prabhuling K. Navadgi argued his case. Jatin distanced himself from the accusations against his wife Ranya, stating that their marriage had been troubled from the beginning. The court ruled that he could not be arrested without following due legal procedure.

With Ranya still behind bars and her legal battle ongoing, Jatin has now taken the next step-seeking to formally end their marriage. His divorce petition further cements the rift between them, marking the final blow to their already strained relationship.
