Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Suspect Identified As Mussavir Hussain Shazib

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation into the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast that occurred on March 1st.

Through meticulous analysis of footage from over 1,000 CCTV cameras, the NIA zeroed in on a crucial piece of evidence - a distinctive cap worn by the suspect in several videos. This cap was traced back to a limited-edition purchase made at a Chennai mall in late January.

Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Suspect Identified As Mussavir Hussain Shazib

With only 400 pieces sold, the pool of potential buyers narrowed significantly. Matching CCTV footage confirmed the suspect, identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, wearing the cap during the blast.

DNA Evidence Links Shazib to the Crime:

Further investigation revealed Shazib resided in Chennai for over a month before the attack. Hair found in the discarded cap provided a DNA match with Shazib's parents, solidifying his connection to the crime.

Accomplice Identified with ISIS Ties:

The NIA also identified another suspect, Abdul Mateen Taha, as Shazib's accomplice. Taha, a wanted criminal, was spotted on CCTV purchasing the cap alongside Shazib. Disturbingly, Taha's connection to an ISIS module in Shivamogga, Shazib's hometown, raises concerns about potential terrorist involvement. Additionally, Taha was seen conducting reconnaissance at the cafe just before the attack.

With the suspects identified, the NIA's investigation is likely to delve deeper to understand the motive behind the attack, identify any potential accomplices, and investigate the possible connection to the ISIS module in Shivamogga. This breakthrough marks a significant step towards bringing those responsible to justice and ensuring public safety.

The NIA has not yet released any information regarding the apprehension of the suspects. This article will be updated with further developments as they become available.
